Eurodefense Presidential Meeting London 2026

On 18 May 2026, the Eurodefense Presidential Council Meeting took place in London, bringing together representatives of national Eurodefense networks.
Eurodefense was founded in France in 1994 and, since 2001, has served as an international network of national associations advocating for a stronger European security and defense policy. The network’s goal is to promote European cooperation in the fields of security and defense.
Dr. Werner Fasslabend, President of AIES, Eurodefense Austria and current Chair of the Eurodefense Presidential Council, chaired the sessions. Research Fellow Nick Nieschalke also participated in the discussions on behalf of the AIES.
The following day, 19 May, Eurodefense UK and the Delegation of the European Union to the United Kingdom jointly hosted the conference "European Defence – The Challenge of our Time" in London. The event addressed current challenges in European security and defence, with panels and keynote addresses bringing together representatives from politics, the military, academia, and think tanks to discuss present threat landscapes and potential European responses in the field of security and defence.
