Visit of teachers from Germany
On October 27, Ulf Steindl welcomed a study group of teachers from Germany, organized by the Bundeswehr Jugendoffiziere Cottbus, to AIES. The study trip to Vienna took place with the aim of gaining insight into Austria's neutrality and the role of the OSCE and the UN in crisis management, in the context of the war in Ukraine.
AIES Research Fellow Ulf Steindl gave two lectures on the European security architecture after the Cold War and on global great power politics. This was followed by a discussion with participants on the consequences and possible outcomes of the war in Ukraine, as well as its impact on Europe. Additionally, the emergence of new geopolitical blocs and the tensions between China and the West were discussed.
