On the 8th of February 2022, AIES President Dr. Werner Fasslabend spoke with Borys Tarasyuk, former Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and current permanent representative to the Council of Europe. The discussion covered the situation in Ukraine and Russia, as well as delving into the history of the two nations. The interview continued to discuss what the EU and NATO can do to counter Russian aggressive moves
Mr. Tarasyuk emphasised Ukraine's preparedness to fight any war with Russia alone but also the need for western nations to support this effort with more than just words. He highlighted that an aggressive Russia threatens not only Ukrainian and European security, but also global security and that maintaining transatlantic ties is essential to combat this aggression. Dr. Fasslabend urged cooperation between NATO and Russia based on a rules-based world order.
