On October 21, 2024, the Austrian Institute for European and Security Policy hosted an internal expert session titled Navigating the 2024 U.S. Elections: A Bipartisan Dialogue on the Implications for Domestic and Foreign Policies. The event featured Mark Pfeifle, founder and president of Off the Record Strategies, who previously served as Deputy Assistant to the President and Deputy National Security Advisor for Strategic Communication at the White House. As a leading expert in crisis communications, digital media, and cybersecurity, Pfeifle regularly contributes to major media outlets like CBS, CNN, and The Wall Street Journal.

Joining the discussion was Jason Altmire, a former U.S. Congressman who served three terms in the House of Representatives from 2007 to 2013. Now a prominent public affairs consultant and author of Dead Center: How Political Polarization Divided America and What We Can Do About It, Altmire is known for his centrist stance and frequently contributes to The Hill while appearing on national news platforms.
