Nov 24, 2025 / Vienna / Global Affairs / Austrian Foreign, Security, Defence Policy
On 24 November 2025, the Austrian Institute for European and Security Policy (AIES) welcomed the Transatlantic Club for its inaugural event in Vienna. In partnership with the newly founded Club, the evening focused on the importance of a serious, non-partisan foreign-policy debate in Austria and the continued relevance of the transatlantic partnership for Europe’s security and prosperity.
Key contributions were provided by State Secretary Jörg Leichtfried (Federal Ministry of the Interior, BMI) and Member of Parliament Veit V. Dengler, who addressed current foreign and security policy challenges, the relevance for the Transatlantic relationship for Austria, and the role of Europe within the transatlantic framework.
By co-hosting this launch event with the Transatlantics Club, AIES underlined its commitment to collaboration in order to foster informed dialogue on European and international security policy.
