Dr. Werner Fasslabend, AIES President and Vice President of the Atlantic Treaty Association (ATA), participated at the 2024 NATO Summit in Washington D.C.

The NATO Public Forum was organised in parallel to the 2025 NATO Summit, which marked 75 years of the Alliance. The Forum aimed to promote a better understanding of NATO's policies, goals and decisions through dialogue and engagement with a unique and diverse group of selected stakeholders. This year, the NATO Public Forum is co-hosted by NATO and the Government of the United States, in collaboration with the Atlantic Council, the Center for a New American Security (CNAS), GLOBSEC, the German Marshall Fund of the United States (GMF) and the Hudson Institute. The Public Forum featured panel discussions, debates and interactive sessions with high-ranking representatives and policymakers who were discussing the most relevant security challenges for the transatlantic Alliance.

In the course of the NATO Summit the participating 32 Member States approved the NATO Washington Summit Declaration, reaffirming the organisation's core missions to preserve peace and strengthen transatlantic security as a defensive alliance. The Declaration also include a Pledge of Long-Term Security Assistance for Ukraine, highlighting the unwavering commitment to Ukraine as a sovereign, democratic, independent state.
