Senior Research Fellow Livia Benko attended the 21st GLOBSEC Forum, held in Prague from 21–23 May 2026 under the auspices of Czech President Petr Pavel. As one of Europe’s leading platforms for dialogue on international security and global affairs, this year’s Forum focused on “The Global Systemic Transformation: 21st-Century Solutions to 21st-Century Challenges.”
Discussions addressed the evolving international security environment, including Russia’s continued war against Ukraine, instability in the Middle East, rising tensions in the Indo-Pacific, and the growing impact of technological change on geopolitics. Particular attention was devoted to Europe’s future role in a fragmenting world, strengthening transatlantic cooperation, defence and resilience, global governance, innovation and AI, energy security, and sustainable economic competitiveness.
The Forum brought together political leaders, policymakers, experts, and business representatives to explore how Europe can adapt to emerging challenges and contribute to a more secure and resilient international order.
