AIES Director Michael Zinkanell delivered a keynote lecture on digital threats and geopolitical developments at the event Lagebild Cyber Security 2025. The cooperation event, which was organised for the fourth time by Joanneum Research and the Silicon Alps Cluster, has established itself as the leading conference on cyber security in southern Austria.
In his keynote, Michael Zinkanell addressed the current threats and challenges in the digital sphere, which have increasingly intensified since Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine. He discussed the interplay of conventional and unconventional attacks as well as their security policy implications for Austria and Europe. In conclusion, Zinkanell emphasised the necessity of systematically identifying digital threats in order to record them on an evidence-based basis and to counter them comprehensively.
