AIES at the XIII Global Baku Forum in Azerbaijan
President Dr. Fasslabend and Honorary President Dr. Ferrero-Waldner spoke at panel dicussions

From 12 to 14 March 2026, the 13th edition of the Global Baku Forum, themed 'Bridging Divides in a World in Transition', took place in Baku, Azerbaijan. Among the nearly 400 participants were AIES President Dr Werner Fasslabend, AIES Honorary President Dr Benita Ferrero-Waldner and AIES Director Michael Zinkanell-Süss.
Each year, the conference brings together former heads of state and government, leaders of international organisations, policymakers, and distinguished experts to debate urgent global issues, including international security, geopolitical developments, and the future of multilateral cooperation.
As part of the Forum, Dr Fasslabend participated in a panel discussion on the Middle East. The discussion addressed the role of regional powers in stabilising Gaza and resolving the broader Israeli–Palestinian conflict, as well as the most effective international course of action regarding the latest developments in the Middle East. Dr Ferrero-Waldner spoke at a panel entitled 'Multilateralism in Crisis: Rethinking Global Cooperation', which addressed the need for institutional reforms in an era of increasingly constrained global governance.
The Global Baku Forum once again proved to be a pivotal international platform for dialogue, convening leading voices figures from various regions to share perspectives and explore solutions to the global challenges we face today.
