The AIES at the ETNC conference in Brussels

AIES Research Fellow Nick Nieschalke was a guest at the ETNC Autumn Conference

AIES Research Fellow Nick Nieschalke, attended the autumn conference of the European Think-tank Network on China (ETNC) which took place in Brussels on 16 and 17 September.

The biannual ETNC conferences are a platform for keeping track of respective countries’ bilateral China relations as well as sharing and discussing current EU-China affairs between participating institutions from across Europe.

The Brussels meeting, in celebration of the network’s 10-year anniversary, had a particular focus on the question how Europe deals with the growing rivalry between China and the United States.

The AIES has been an active ETNC member since 2019 and has contributed to various ETNC reports highlighting the Austrian perspective:
