Ivan Nikolovski holds degrees from Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje and the Central European University in Budapest and is currently completing a PhD at the Central European University in Vienna. Besides his native languages Macedonian and Serbian, Nikolovski is fluent in English and Italian, has a good command of German, as well as an understanding of Albanian and Bulgarian.
As a young scholar and policy analyst, Ivan Nikolovski has a versatile research and policy agenda. Throughout his working experience with the Balkan and wider European think tank community and academic career, Nikolovski has written and published more than 20 policy studies and academic works in fields as diverse as EU enlargement, European security, regional cooperation in the Western Balkans, great powers' competition and influence in Southeastern Europe, as well as European and Balkan memory and identity politics
His current project deals with the Europeanization of memory and identity politics against the background of the EU enlargement to the Western Balkans, focusing on the case of North Macedonia.
