Leonie joined the AIES as a research intern in September 2024.

She holds a B.A. degree in International and European Governance from Münster University and Sciences Po Lille and is currently pursuing an M.A. in the same course, with a special focus on Peace, Development and Humanitarian Action.

Her reasearch is centered around Populism and Nationalism studies as well as Feminist Perspectives on Foreign Policy, with a special focus on South-East Europe and the Balkans. Before joining the AIES she was an intern at the Regional Representation of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania for the EU in Brussels.
