Nourhan Mustafa, founder of the International Humanitarian Law and Youth Initiative, is a seasoned professional with over six years of experience in international humanitarian law, human rights, arms proliferation, and international security. Her work focuses on the Middle East and North Africa, where she leads initiatives and engages in dialogues at regional and international levels, including at the United Nations, to advocate for civil society organizations.

A dedicated advocate for the rights of vulnerable populations affected by armed conflicts, Nourhan has significantly contributed to disarmament efforts. She represents civil society in UN disarmament meetings, prepares reports and interventions, and collaborates with international organizations to train youth from diverse nationalities, enhancing their ability to support international agreements.

Nourhan Moustafa graduated from the Leadership Program in International Security at the University of Geneva and the Geneva Center for Security Policy (GCSP), where she deepened her expertise in international security. She also led a global social media initiative that raised awareness of international humanitarian law and disarmament among law students, impacting over 10,000 young individuals worldwide.

She also coordinates activities aimed at strengthening youth capacities in the Middle East and North Africa to engage with international mechanisms, such as the Rome Statute.her research spans human security, small arms proliferation, nuclear weapons, conventional arms, and technological advancements in weaponry. She is dedicated to advancing state practices in implementing international humanitarian and disarmament law through UN mechanisms, fostering civil society's role in international security, and advocating for effective global policies.
