Maximilian Haidvogl, M.A.I.S.

AIES Associate Fellow


Maximilian Haidvogl holds a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from the University of Vienna. In 2023, he completed the diploma program as well as the Master of Advanced International Studies (M.A.I.S.) at the Diplomatic Academy. His thesis focused on the future geopolitical orientation of the European energy market in an increasingly multipolar world. Currently, Maximilian is also pursuing a postgraduate LL.M. in European and International Business Law at the University of Vienna. Additionally, he is a graduate of "The Hague Summer Academy for International Law." Maximilian speaks German, English, and French. He has gained experience in the field of Public Affairs in Switzerland, with the Austrian Economic Chamber in Germany, and most recently at the Austrian Embassy in Bulgaria. At the AIES, he supports research areas focusing on the strategic energy security of Austria and the EU-27, the protection of critical infrastructure against hybrid threats, and the NATO security doctrine in the Western Balkans and Black Sea region. Since September 2024, Maximilian has been an Associate Fellow at AIES.
