Almut Möller is an expert on European integration and Euro-Mediterranean relations. She is head of the Alfred von Oppenheim Center for European Policy Studies at the German Council on Foreign Relations (DGAP) in Berlin.

Since April 2008 Almut has been an Associate Fellow with the Austria Institute for European and Security Policy (AIES) in Maria Enzersdorf near Vienna. Between 2008 and 2010 she lived as a freelance author and consultant in London. From 2002-2008 she was a researcher at the Center for Applied Policy Research (C⋅A⋅P) in Munich.

Her fields of research cover the development of the European integration process (institutions, policy-making procedures, reform process), European foreign policy in the Middle East and civic education on EU affairs. She is the editor of "Berlin Brief: Foreign Policy in the German Capital", a briefing on German Foreign Policy for an English speaking readership.

Almut Möller studied political science, contemporary European history, European and international law in Münster, Aix-en-Provence and Munich. She holds a Magister Artium of Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität in Munich.

Since 2003 Almut has been working in the field of European civic education cooperating with, among others, the German Federal Agency for Civic Education (Bundeszentrale für Politische Bildung) and Civic/Institut für internationale Bildung. In 2006 she was an associate lecturer at Geschwister-Scholl-Institut für politische Wissenschaft at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität in Munich. From 2003-2004 she also taught at Munich University of Applied Sciences. Almut was a guest researcher at Renmin University of China in Beijing (2006), Al Ahram Center for Political and Strategic Studies in Cairo (2007) and at the American Institute for Contemporary German Studies (AICGS) at Johns Hopkins University in Washington D.C. (2008).
